I. PURPOSE AND SCOPE

This guide establishes the Prevention (NMS) policy for the Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Program. This policy applies to all NMS personnel including employees, field service personnel, and customers in NMS facilities.
II. GOAL
-
The goal of this policy is to: promote and protect the health of NMS personnel, customers and visitors; prevent work-related injury and illness; prevent harm to and pollution of the environment and communities. This is an on-going high priority NMS goal. This policy was developed to provide a clear statement of NMS management’s commitment to implement and continually improve a comprehensive and effective health, safety and environmental protection program to achieve this goal.
III. POLICY
It is the policy of Nehmeh Maintenance & Services (NMS) to conduct its activities in such a way as to:

Consider first the health and safety of its employees, field service personnel, and any parties who may be affected by our activities;

No accidents, no harm to people and no damage to environment.

Create a safe work environment by eliminating hazards and reducing risk. We will accomplish this by providing resources, training, and professional staff to implement and support this policy;

Ensure that HSE matters have equal status with all other primary business objectives;
-
Comply with all relevant and applicable international, national and local government regulations and laws, and industrial standards and guidelines;

Protect the environment, prevent pollution, and seek improvements in the efficient use of natural resources;
-
Demonstrate a visible HSE commitment and take a leading role in establishing best practices in the seismic industry; and
-
Cultivate and embrace a “management of change” culture, continually assessing vulnerabilities and predicting changes in conditions, circumstances or systems that may create unsafe conditions due to unexpected or unforeseen situations.
Hand Tools – Protection

Use PPE, such as safety goggles and gloves

Keep floor surface where working free from debris and tripping or slipping hazards

Keep cutting tools sharp
Housekeeping
-
Housekeeping is not only the first line of defense against injury, but also against environmental harm.

Waste should be segregated and barricaded with red and white warning tape.
-
Chemicals should be stored out of direct sunlight in a well ventilated area and as per MSDS specifications.
-
Fuel, oil and chemical containers will be sealed at all times while not in use to prevent accidental spillage of its contents.

Fire extinguishers will always be available where these items are stored either temporary or permanently (as per civil defense requirements).

Only toilette facilities are to be used for urination. Urination will not be allowed on site, in bottles, containers etc. This will be subject to disciplinary action.
Oil and Fuel Storage

All oil and fuel storage Tanks and drums must have a leakage catchment container which can hold more than 120% of the contents of the tank.

Issuing of oil and fuel must be via a hose fit for the purpose with a proper drip free nozzle attached.

Drip trays must be held under the point where the liquid are being transferred from one vessel to another to catch potential spillage.

Oil and fuel containers will be manufactured for such use and marked as to the contents thereof.
NMS will pursue this policy through the implementation of an HSE Management System supported by visible management commitment and through individual contributions. Our HSE policies will be communicated to field service personnel to ensure their operations are planned and conducted in line with our corporate values.
Adherence to our HSE policies and procedures is of paramount importance to the success of the company. All NMS employees understand that HSE performance is their responsibility, that they must conduct themselves in a safe and proper manner while carrying out their tasks and that compliance with all HSE policies and procedures is a condition of employment.
Assessing the effectiveness of our policies and procedures in our operations will ensure that opportunities for continuous improvements exist while achieving our HSE goals and objectives.
IV. RESPONSIBILITIES
Managers and Supervisors
-
Establishes goals, general policies, organizational responsibilities, and priorities, and provides general oversight for NMS HSE program.

Formally reviews, at least annually, the status and performance of NMS HSE program and progress in achieving stated goals, objectives and targets.
-
Ensures that NMS budget submissions include appropriate financial and other resources to effectively implement and administer the HSE program.
-
Must be familiar with this policy, adhere to its provisions, and integrate NMS HSE program requirements into their work processes and planning.
-
Ensure active communication concerning the HSE program with workers, customers, and higher level management.
-
Ensure that all new workers, staff, and field service personnel within their areas of responsibility are adequately trained, oriented, and have personal protective equipment before beginning work.

Participate in HSE training at least annually.

Ensure, within their area of responsibility, compliance with all applicable HSE regulations, policies, permits, and procedures.
Employees
-
Must be familiar with this policy and adhere to its provisions.
-
Participate in HSE training at least annually.
-
Comply fully with all applicable HSE regulations, policies and procedures.
-
Report, to appropriate NMS authorities (supervisors, managers), any conditions that are perceived to be a threat to safety, health or the environment.
-
Cooperate fully during HSE audits, surveys, and inspections.
-
Report all work-related injuries, illnesses, and near misses to the assigned supervisor.
-
Visit the occupational health care provider that serves their facility to have all injuries and work-related illnesses evaluated.
-
Read and follow guidelines when handling chemicals and materials.
